SA 11 HOW TO DRAW WHAT YOU SEE with Joshua Langstaff
One Weekend Saturday & Sunday
10 - 4
November 16 & 17
Learning to draw is largely about learning how to see. Beginning students often depict visual symbols instead of what the eye perceives. This course will present concepts that will help students learn to observe their subjects more analytically. We will begin by exploring methods for blocking-in shapes using several types of measurement. Next, we will examine the structure of light and strategies will be presented for capturing values accurately on paper. Projects will make use of a still-life objects under controlled light. This class is for all skill levels, whether you are a beginner looking to get off on the right foot, or an experienced artist looking to incorporate a classical drawing foundation into your practice.
