$285.00

6 Weeks

Tuesday 9 - 12

September 24 – October 29

This class is for artists of all levels and media who wish to explore sketching and painting trees. We will work outdoors, and in the studio, to study various types and species of trees, and to learn how to best represent their shapes, volumes, and personalities. We will pay special attention to fall colors. We will study the work of other artists, learn about the art of bonsai and how it can inform our own work, and cover a bit of the history of trees in New England. Participants must be prepared to travel to locations near Sanctuary Arts and to carry their gear short distances to work outside. Demonstrations in pencil, pen and ink, and watercolor.
