Discover the art of classical painting while creating a meaningful portrait of a loved one. This course covers the foundations of portrait painting—including proportion, drawing, underpainting, flesh-tone mixing, and more. You’ll learn how to take and select strong reference images using a live model. Students can choose to work from these images or apply the skills they’ve learned to gather reference of a loved one. By the end of the course, you’ll have a completed portrait infused with both tradition and personal significance. $20 model fee included in tuition.
