Fold forming is a technique of metalworking where metal is folded, repeatedly forged and annealed to make it soft, then unfolded. Explore how to stretch and move metal with a hammer to create a new three dimensional form. Many artists use this innovative way to move metal, using the characteristics of the metal to create forms, rather than forcing form onto the material. Through demonstrations and plenty of work time, each student will have the opportunity to try several different foldforms, choosing the one they like best to create a beautiful piece of jewelry. All levels welcome, no experience required.
